Gabriel Le Chevallier’s practice focuses on obtaining insurance coverage for corporate policyholders. Gabriel has secured coverage for clients under directors and officers policies, financial services policies, and commercial general liability policies. Such recoveries have been obtained through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, and/or litigation. Gabriel’s representative engagements include:
- Securing millions of dollars of insurance coverage for an investment fund for defense costs arising from an investor dispute.
- Representing a large safety equipment manufacturer to obtain tens of millions of dollars from insurers for mass tort liabilities.
- Representing a Fortune 500 company in negotiating with insurers to recover millions of dollars for asbestos-related liabilities.
- Negotiating with insolvent insurers to recover for breast-implant-related liabilities on behalf of a large corporate policyholder.
- Litigating and negotiating on behalf of a trust formed under Section 524(g) of the Bankruptcy Code to collect insurance for its asbestos-related losses.
Since joining Gilbert, Gabriel has discovered that he loves Excel and uses it to help value the issues in his cases. This interest in quantitative analysis has led to Gabriel working closely with consultants to assess the impact of hundreds of millions of dollars in past and future mass tort-related liabilities on his clients’ insurance portfolios.
