Kami Quinn has broad experience representing corporate policyholders, bankruptcy trusts and others to recover insurance proceeds for mass tort liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, property damage and business interruption.  The emphasis of her work is on the resolution of complex, multi-party issues through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution.  Kami has also advised corporate and other clients with respect to strategies for insurance recovery in asbestos-related bankruptcies.  

Some of Kami’s recent matters include:

  • Securing tens of million of dollars through settlement with various insurance companies on behalf of a bankruptcy trust created for the benefit of personal injury claimants
  • Advice to a national non-profit organization with respect to recovery from insurers of amounts spent in the successful defense of the organization’s public education campaign
  • Advice to successor to Fortune 500 company concerning its global strategy for insurance recovery and litigation of certain insurer disputes
  • Counsel to asbestos creditor committees in bankruptcy cases with respect to securing CGL insurance coverage

Kami also has an active pro bono practice, which has included securing emergency potentially life-saving care for a breast cancer patient.  In addition, she has worked with the American Civil Liberties Union to secure a recovery for alleged police brutality and has provided pro bono analysis for a local non-profit agency’s existing coverage portfolio.  Kami has also worked with the Washington Area Women’s Foundation to develop the Foundation’s Legal Clinic providing services to several area non-profit organizations.   

Kami has authored of a number of articles on insurance-related topics.
