In more than 30 years of practice, Jerry Randolph has successfully handled various types of complex and high-stakes litigation, resolving these cases through creative settlements when possible, and taking them to trial or ADR when necessary.  In 2001, Jerry became one of the founding partners of Gilbert Oshinsky.  Jerry began his career as a trial lawyer in the US Attorney’s office in Chicago.  He then joined the law firm of Keating, Muething and Klekamp in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he headed up litigation teams handling all types of corporate litigation, including Superfund and other environmental litigation, various types of class action litigation, intellectual property litigation and mass tort bankruptcy matters.  In the last six years, Jerry’s practice has focused on litigation designed to force insurers to comply with their coverage obligations dealing with their policyholders’ mass tort liabilities.  Jerry also heads up the firm’s substantial pro bono practice.  Examples of his litigation experience include:

  • Representation of corporate clients and bankruptcy trusts in insurance coverage for mass tort liabilities both in litigation and in ADR proceedings
  • Representation of a corporation in a bankruptcy confirmation proceeding in its efforts to assign its mass tort insurance coverage rights to a post-bankruptcy trust over the objection of its insurers
  • Representation of an Ethiopian woman in a pro bono civil rights action brought against a local police department, based on her unwarranted arrest and the physical abuse she suffered during the arrest
  • Representation of corporate clients seeking to minimize their liability in major Superfund litigation
  • Representation of a national newspaper in litigation related to the client’s decision to overhaul its newspaper delivery service
